Wedding story part II

It got way too long so I decided to break it apart... =P

7.  OH man, I'm not trying to be biased but I think this banquet hall was the best place I've been to so far.  I loved the way they set up the room, chairs, tables, etc, the backdrop in the back of our headtable was really nice, and enough said on our pastry table!! It absolutely looked amazing!  Oh yea and hte cake, I didn't wanna spend a lot on it (seems like not a lot of guests remember the cake very much), so I just bought the cake toppers with our initials and gave some silk rose pedals to Cami to put on the cake (didn't really give her detailed description), but man, she did an AMAZING job with it!! It looked SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Pretty!!! loved it loved it loved it!! Just in case you missed, the cake was not served due to having all the desserts (including the ones on pastry table) but was cut and were on the pastry table for guests to take home.  The cake was good of course, and the top is in our freezer waiting to be eaten next year haha.In case you The menus looked pretty cool on our tables too, and I hope the guests liked our favors and our placecards (thanks Liz and Al for all your work, and thanks Tiff, Eric, TK and Ellen for helping us put together all of those on Friday! yea I know, we finished it the day before the wedding LOL) too!!
8.  The food was relaly good too!! We only got to taste the main meal so we didn't get to taste any of the rest... and oh yea, we didn't get to eat any of our hor doerve's (sp?) , oh well, those were all for the guests anywayz.  The soup was good, the salad was good (although TM thought it was ok, maybe cause I l ike sour stuff), and our fillet mignon were very very good!! My dad told me that he's never seen a bride eat so well! Man I was hungry! I felt my dress getting a little tight too hahahha ;) then we left our table to greet guests, thanx Liz for guarding my food while we were gone. and thanks for the lovely speech! I was touched!! =D  and TK, yours was very awesome too!! except the guests who were talking during TK's speech (what was up with that man!!), heard it was table 25 (not our friends) so if you were sitting on table 25, shame on you!!!   but as soon as TK said "grades" they shut up LOL.  Sorry TK!
9.  Our first dance was successful!! Hope everyone enjoyed it!  My dad and I didn't practice a lot so we screwed up a few times, but on well, we enjoyed it! LOL hopefully Oscar caught some moments where we didn't mess up LOL,  ehhh the point was we got to dance hehehe ;) .  and oh my goodness, I've never seen a dance floor that packed in a Korean wedding.  I was surprised man!! =D even the adults came out and danced.  I guess it's no more "oh I'm so shy I won't dance" thing at a korean wedding (or was it just ours, and our guests? hahah).  If you were all wondering where we were during the first part of the dance, we were out taking more pictures with Oscar and Kartika, which was a lot of fun.  Can't wait to see them all!!
10. oh yea, sorry I almost forgot... great job on the slideshow Al we loved it!

So...the reasons why it was 99.5% was b/c we missed the dessert (the flaming brandy ice cream!!!!!!!! :(  )  Liz said it completely melted so she couldn't argue when they took it away, eh yea I bet it would've tasted wierd all melted), but we got to see it being served so I guess that's ok.  , and we basically missed most of our pastry table stuff, except the chocolate-covered strawberries (so tasty) someone offered to us when we were walking around all the tables... man the line was long!!Sad we missed! but maybe cause I love sweet stuff and I only got to see pictures of them and thanks everyone for taking all the pictures of them!! . They'll be in my memories, and as long as you all enjoyed'em I'm happy!  yea, and I would've been a bit happier too if paebek thing went more smoothly, especially with the right peabek clothes I requested!!! The hanbok store owner never told me that we had to give'em tip, and I seriously had no cash on me except the check I wrote to them for balance I owed them,  so I asked them to ask my parents... and they got rejected by my parents LOL I guess my parents weren't too happy with the service either =D
whooo I think this was the longest entry I've ver written!! =D
I'll give you a buzz once all the photos are ready!!! =D  I loved all my vendors and I will recommed them to everyone, especially those getting married in chicagoland (flowers and bouquets looked amazing thanks Mrs. Song!, Harsh was a really good JD, and I think I've said enough about Oscar and Kartika, thanks Eug for being our videographer! and the beauty salon we went to was awesome too) .  Thanks Michelle and Cami for coordinating the whole event very smoothly and thanks to the ushers for doing all the labor work! Both of our parents looked amazing too (especially my mom and grandma, sorry I'm not trying to sound biased hehe).

So the conclusion of this longgggg entry: it was definitely the dream-come-true wedding day! :)

Hi

Hi! I know a lot of ppl almost stopped using Xanga, but I figured I should still write some stuff here, since #1 I can write a heck of a lot more than in facebook, and #2 some still do use it! ^^

Okay... so it's been almost 2 weeks since the big day... so I should just summarize our big day and our honeymoon really quick.  Pictures?  The real pix (professional ones) by Oscar and Kartika are coming out on Nov 21st (I know.. it's a long time, but what do ya do? I know they're working hard on our photos), so until then, enjoy others' pictures on their facebook/xanga.  I stole some from them as well hehe ;)

So some thoughts on marriage:

At this moment, I feel like it's a bit early to tell... because we've been so busy catching up with things after being gone for a week and moving in and stuff.  Plus I've been working second shift since Wednesday so I really haven't had much time to hang out with my hubby :( (so sad but what do ya do?) .  But one thing I notice is that when I wake up in the morning there's someone sleeping next to me, and giving good morning kisses (are you grossed out? or are you "aww"ing? haha).  I've been cooking dinners for him  and he's loving my food (it's a miracle... or he might be justsaying that to make me happy, although dwen jang chiggae turned out pretty good) so far! yay. I'll update you more on our married life more later ;)

SOme thoughts on our wedding:

You know how everyone says it's the best day of your life?  I totally agree! I think it was the best day of both of our lives (besides accepting Christ as our Savior for the first time of course).  Everything went so smooth, and I was like 99.5% happy with everything (I'll tell you why it's 99.5 in a few minutes here).
1. I was adjusting my tiara, then part of it just fell off... I waslike: "oops", then Liz and Al came over to pick me and my dress up, and then Al went to Walmart after dropping us off at the beauty salon and Liz fixed it by glueing it! And it still looks like nothing happened to it! whoa!! Aren't they awesome? ;) hehe that's one episode that I'll definitely remember and treasure hahaha
2. I was soooooooooooooooo happy that the girls (the bridesmaids) all loved their hair! I was also happy that they were having a lot of fun even though we were runnign late. It would've stressed me out a lot but since they were enjoying being their and loving their hair, it made me so happy!
3. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED my hair and make-up!  Especially my make-up!  I go to this beauty salon called Marshall's in Arlington Heights to always get my hair cut and done, and they're really good, so despite the high price and such I still went there (actually only the bride's hair and make up were expensive, the bridesmaids' was I thought pretty reasonable), and I tell ya it was so worth the money.  They hire a make-up artist from somewhere else and she available at any Marshall stores (they h ave 4 in chicagoland) if you make an appointment with her early.  She did my mom and my sister(in-law)'s make up and they looked amazing too (didn't my mom look so pretty in her hanbok and her dress??? ) .  She did an amazing job on me that I highly recommend this salon to anyone! =D  Warning: she's a little blunt but I think her amazing skills totally make up for it (she told me I had "awkward"-looking eyes (literal translation from korean to English) as she explained why she did my eye make-up this way, and I also heard stuff like she told one bride she had a crooked forhead hahahah).  My hair was awesome too, although it was mostly covered by my veil the whole time... he knew what to do exactly when I showed him pictures. So I was very happy.
4.  We were like an hour late to our outdoor portrait, because the make-up artist first clients (bride and 3 bridesmaids) at another marshall's showed up one hour late, so everyone's schedule basically got pushed back an hour.  But we definitely were able to manage getting the pictures done still in one hour and were ok on time! Thanks to Oscar and Kartika for your ability to manage that, and also assure me that everything would be alright.  Thank you GOD for such a beautiful weather!!! couldn't ask for more really... can't wait to see the pictures with the whole wedding party!.  Then we went to church, and got our family portraits done in like 15 minutes!  whoa!  So I felt really bad for the grooosmen who had to wait for us to show up (they got to eat lunch, and I heard that the guys assured Taimin that I was coming for sure hahhaa), and my family waited like 30-40 minutes at the church cause we told them to come early since we wanted to take pictures all b4 the ceremony.  Oh well, some of them came from out of state and it's hard to get together nowadays except during holidays, so they got to catch up and stuff =D
5. Ceremony: *sigh* I still think about and I get teary-eye'ed.  I'll just keep it short! It was the most exciting moment of my life (making marriage vows)... *sigh***    Some fun moments: I almost forgot to blow out our candles after lighting the unty candle, cause instead of blowing I set it back on the table, and realized that when I saw TM blowing it out... so I quickly did that hehehe, and when my bro was giving announcements in Korean (my parents' request) P. Danny and we laughed at him for sounding like an ahjushee... did u notice my cousin Paul and my bro matched? hahaha cute they didn't plan on it.  Both Kido and Ava successfully made down the aisle, heard Ava was quite the model while she was doing her thing! I love that girl she's so cute!! =D  Thanks Paul and Amy for letting Ava be my flowergirl!! =D .  Yea I know, my dad was chewing gum when he was taking me down the aisle, he was doing that unconsciously... oops, my mom said she almost passed out when she saw that... LOL on well let's just laugh about it =D
6.  After a few additional pictures we ran to our gataway car and went to the banquet hall. Oh my goodness, that BMW 750i, was sooooo cool!! It had all these cool features and so big and... yea... it wasAWESOME!  the guys didn't get to decorate our car cause James was waiting for me at the salon and we were like superlate to the park for pictures... oh well, it looked way too nice to do that anywayz... our parents never got to see the car even tho my mom really wanted to...  Paebek was great... eh actually it was ok, I thought it'd be more fun, but not really... they didn't even bring the color of paebek clothes I requested (hot pink for me and black with gold embroidery for TM, but instead they brought red and blue, I was upset, but what do ya do), and when I asked if I put those red dots, they gave me this look: "what are u talking about ppl don't wear those anymore" (i was like whatda), and I duuno, they didn't really explain the whole process very well to me and TM our any of our parents and relatives before it actually started.  I at least had an idea since I watched my bro do it when he got married, but TM was clueless... felt bad... BUT we had fun piggy back riding me , and I'm sure it kept the guests entertained and stuff... and Oscar took a lot of pictures! so we'll see!! I still would've been even happier if they brought the right clothes!!!   But our parents enjoyed it!
